A chance for local families and those from out of town to explore the village and have some fun along the way. Though the clues may take some working out, the search for them is sure to be enjoyable. 2 people per team.

HORTICULTURE SHOW 4pm-6pm
Got some specimen vegetables you’ve grown? Want to show off your prize blooms?
There are points to be awarded for the best display of home grown produce. And what do points means? Well, Prizes, of course! Willowfield Garden Centre, Kenmare and Caherdaniel Garden Centre have kindly agreed to help sponsor this year’s competition and are offering generous vouchers to the best in show! So get going and get growing – entries should be submitted on Sunday 26th before 2pm and judging will take place at 4pm. If you’re not green fingered, then have a go instead at our Sneem Horticultural quiz. But please, entries should be from your own gardening efforts and not from the veggie section of your local supermarket! A small entry fee of €3 per item will apply.

BLACKSMITH DEMONSTRATION 12pm-4pm
In times gone by the blacksmith played an important role in rural villages; shoeing horses, making and repairing tools was a vital service to the
community. That may have changed but the magic of seeing hot metal forged under the hammer and anvil still mesmerizes young and old. Come and watch Tom Allison artist blacksmith demonstrate the ancient craft with some surprising results.

GREEN WOODWORKING DEMONSTRATION: 12pm-4pm
Green woodwork is the art of constructing items, usually chairs, from newly felled logs. A number of different tools and processes are used to assemble anything from a chair to a baby rattle. If you would like the chance to watch this interesting and practical skill being applied in an instructive way then this demonstration will definitely arouse your curiosity. Watch as logs are crafted into works of art using methods that have survived the passages of time and feel yourself transported to an age of simplistic wonderment

ANIMAL KINGDOM PET SHOW 2pm-4pm
An impressive collection of local and foreign animals will make an appearance at this well-loved pet show sponsored by Animal Kingdom Pet Shop (18 Henry St, Kenmare). Proud pet-owners will have an opportunity to parade their pets, which will be judged on a number of aspects by local pet-loving judges. With tortoises, snakes, chameleons and colourful fish available at Animal Kingdom there is sure to be a wonderful array of animals.
The price of entry is €3 per pet.

HORSE RIDING 4pm - 7pm
All pet owners and Farm competitors, spectators and horse lovers will get a chance to ride on the ever-so-calm ponies. Pony rides start by the stage and lead towards the GAA Grounds. €3


BIG BOUNCING FUN 4pm
Located on the North Square, the “Gold Mine” bouncy castle is an old favourite for the kids


FARM COMPETITION 4pm -5.30pm
In its third year this farm skill event is enjoyed by people of all ages, competitors and spectators alike. Come prove yourself in areas like milking, horseshoe throwing, straw bale rolling and wheelbarrow racing. A chart will mark the progress of each competitor so you can keep an eye on the competition. Enter as many times as you like to be in for a better chance to win the generous prizes, all at the reasonable price of €5

TeenTeam Triathlon 6pm
Sneem and Guest Teenagers will compete in a bicycle canoe and running team race. Watch out when they come speeding into Sneem.

LAUGHTER YOGA 7pm
Laughter truly is the best medicine! As an aerobic exercise it helps to relieve stress, boosts your immune system and increases confidence. Come along and give it a try .

TENNIS BALL RACE 7.30pm
Come along and watch this frenzied race which is guaranteed to get your adrenaline firing! A fantastic prize of €1000 is up for grabs this year as over 800 tennis balls bounce and careen down the street towards the ‘finish funnel’. At only €5 a numbered ball (available in all shops) Proceeds go to the Sneem Cardiac First Responder. Have a heart, buy a ball!

VARIETY CONCERT 9pm
A spectacular and extremely enjoyable conclusion to the 2008 Sneem Family Festival, the variety show hosts a number of local talents. Loosely based on a traditional theme, both adults and children will be entertained by this evening of music, song and dance.

SHEAF TOSSING 9pm
This big favorite is back again and will round off the farm day theme in Festival style. Old champions will be back and new ones will arise in this popular competition. Under the watchful eye of at least half the village, strength and sense of direction are the skills that will get your sheaf higher than the rest. Give it a try, it’s an entertaining event that you’d be foolish to miss! The price is €5.
